Old photo Resized_thumb.jpgFounded by Martin Divilly Snr. in 1927, the store was originally located on William St. West. It has always been and always will be a family-run store. Our main focus is always on you – our customer. We aim to offer the best service, the best product range and ultimately the best shopping experience for you. Over the years we have received many awards and accolades including FBD National Retail Store of the Year, various Bridgestone Awards and many others. The greatest reward is still the compliments paid to us by our customers. We want to thank you for that and let you know that your custom is always greatly appreciated.

1982 saw Martin Divilly Butchers open their Westside store. In 1993 Martin Divilly took over as Manager of Martin Divilly Butchers, Westside and from this went on to become owner of the shop in 1996. Pictured is one of his first displays in Westside.

From taking over the shop in 1996 Martin started developing products to suit customer needs with more modern value added products being added to the traditional ranges. Colin Gibbons is pictured with another award winning display by Martin.


ring 017_thumb.jpg2000 saw huge changes at Martin Divilly Butchers. We expanded to include Hot Food and Deli counters, Class 1 Fruit & Vegetables, a wide range of groceries and dairy products all under one roof. Martin is pictured with his team on opening day 2000.


ring 014_thumb.jpgIn 2003 Martin’s wife Audrey joined the team at Westside. With a revamp to the store, new lines in our deli range and an emphasis on customer service, the store went on to win the Overall FBD Retail Store of the Year in Ireland. This was the first time a butchers had won this prestigious award.


ring 154_thumb.jpg2006 saw a major renovation of Divillys’. Out went the deli and hot food section so Martin could offer his clients a wider selection of high quality locally sourced fresh meats, whilst having an enjoyable shopping experience. It was a huge project which resulted in what has to be the most stylish butchers in the country – FBD Crest certainly thought so awarding us ‘The Best Store, Western Region 2006′ accolade.

ring 153_thumb.jpg2008 saw Divilly’s being invited to join the Good Food Ireland Members Base.The Good Food Ireland ethos is to prioritise the core indiginous ingredients of Irish cuisine and promote local and artisan food producers.Their member base is selected, and independently assessed, according to the strictest brand criteria.
